Welcome message: SWSTE 2012

The 2012 IEEE International Conference on Software Science, Technology, and Engineering is a unique conference aimed at bringing together researchers, scientists, industry leaders, and managers from Israel and abroad to meet and share ideas and stimulate discussions in the area of software. In the research section of the conference, our international program committee selected papers that present novel work in subareas of software engineering: requirements, modeling, processes, and middleware. A doctoral symposium, headed by our steering committee member will present selected ongoing research of doctoral students. Our industrial tracks will focus on various aspects of "the way to the cloud" and will be headed by industry leaders in their respective areas. We will present Big Data and Cyber Security, two areas in which the cloud both enabled and created new opportunities. Public Clouds and Enterprise Service Evolution are topics of interest, as industry explores new execution models for software services. We will devote a track for new hyper-agile processes for software lifecycle, called Continuous Deployment, described by real use cases, and we will present Massive-Scale Computing projects that show the power of pooling resources in a cloud environment.
