Abstract
Designed a software system based on ASME B31G-2009 which is used to evaluate the remaining strength of pipeline containing corrosion defects. Studio2010 and C# were utilized and a database was established. Specially introduced the functions and the program process of the software, and the data of X70 pipeline was input to verify the practicality of the system. As to Level 3 evaluation in ASME B31G-2009, the finite element simulation method was adopted. 9 different sizes of corrosion defect models were established to calculate based on ABAQUS, and the results were compared to analyze the influential factors. The results showed that: for the Level 0, 1 and 2 evaluations, the length of defects was more significant to the remaining strength of corroded pipeline than depth, while for Level 3 evaluation, the depth of defects is more influential.
