Abstract
EBG(electromagnetic band-gap) structures have bandgap capability, which can act as perfect magnetic conductor surface. These structures can suppress surface waves and reduce undesired radiation from an antenna. In this paper, Electromagnetic simulation software Ansoft HFSS are used to obtain the field at the center of the grounded computer enclosure with finite thickness with and without EBG. We see that EBG structures can reduce the electric field at the center of the box and at the center of a slot on the computer´s surface.
