Abstract
A single time constant (STC) circuit is that circuit which is composed of, or can be reduced to, one reactive component and one resistance. An STC circuit formed of a capacitance C and a resistance R has a time constant τ=RC. Although an STC circuit is quite simple, it plays a significant role in the project and analysis of linear and digital circuits. In this paper, the charge time of a capacitance has been evaluated using an ADuC812 microconverter. A time measurement is obtained employing the 12 bit converter ADC0 input, and DAC0 and DAC1 outputs included in the microconverter. Several time constants were used and the results obtained were excellent.
