Abstract
Several Markov probability models are developed to evaluate the impact of maintenance system availability on the overall plant. The models considered included the case when the maintenance equipment is under repair when a failure occurs on process equipment. The situation in which the maintenance equipment is operated in a degraded condition (i.e., longer times are required to complete repairs) is examined
