Abstract
A new array structure based on the photoconductive photomixer/antenna elements is proposed and its radiation characteristic as a CW terahertz source is fully investigated. Employing the integrated photomixer/antenna elements in an array configuration increases the available THz power, while each of the array elements operates under the critical absorbed optical power level. It is shown that several microwatt THz radiation power is achievable from the proposed structure, and it is mainly limited by the available laser power at the corresponding optical wavelength.
