Abstract
The Pressure Assisted Gallbladder Evaluation (PAGE) system was developed for accurate, automatic, and safe measurement of the leakage pressure, compliance, volume, work of infusion, and cystic duct resistance. The PAGE system comprises a pressure-feedback-controlled constant-rate infusion pump and an intra-gallbladder pressure monitoring and recording setup. The system appears to fulfil the desired safety and performance requirements and to be effective for the measurement of specific gallbladder biomechanical properties. It has been used only in pigs but it is expected that the system will be used in human patients in combination with the microprocessor-assisted solvent transfer system
