  • Abstract
The problem of implementing an finite impulse response (FIR)-system using a specific lattice structure has been previously considered especially for the minimum phase case. It is treated here for linear phase systems. In the design procedure (the application of the Schur-Cohn stability test) for the linear phase case, the last reflection coefficient is ±1, which leads to a singularity in the design equation. In spite of that, a solution can be found, yielding approximately half of the numerical expenditure of the minimum phase case and the same number of operations as for the direct structure
