Abstract
PSASP (Power System Analysis Software Package) is a package of programs widely used in China for power system analysis and simulation. It provides rich functions for user development, including user defined models and user routine interface. Although PSASP contains a variety of excitation system models which satisfies the requirement for the vast majority of excitation systems, situations may arise in which there is no library model for a given new excitation system. This paper attempts to develop user defined models for three main types of excitation systems recommended by IEEE for power system stability studies, using user defined model function provided in PSASP. Case studies were carried out and the results verified the accuracy of the developed models in PSASP for power system stability studies
