Abstract
In order to solve the contradiction between the transmission of mass data of large-scale scene and the limited network bandwidth, an improved algorithm, network-driven view-dependent streaming of three-dimensional scene, is presented in this paper, based on taking advantage of the idea of streaming of multimedia. We take 3-D scene as a streaming media file, and take a model of the scene as a frame the file. By analyzing the organization structure of the scene, we take manage it effectively. And we can get a series of simplified models with different precisions for every model by simplifying the models of the scene. During the transmission, we choose the suitable simplified (or the original) models dynamically by detecting the network speed, and then sort the models by the visual sequence based on the location of the viewpoint.
