Abstract
Huang´s Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) algorithm sometimes may cause mode mixing because of multi-band included in Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF) components, in addition, the EMD always has illusive components due to the shortcoming of the algorithm itself. This paper puts forward a LLT-EMD algorithm based on wavelet packet which doing pretreatment for signal by wavelet-packet transform firstly, then applying the EMD, finally using Logarithm Likelihood Testing (LLT) method to identify the illusive components. This method to some extent solves the problems of the mode mixing and the illusive component. Simulation and experimental results present the high performance of the proposed method.
