  • Abstract
The results of soil reflection characteristics investigation are presented. Reflection coefficients of air-soil interface have been measured by the special wideband noise reflectometer for the waveguide loaded with quarter-wavelength flange in contact with tested media. The field measurement program was undertaken in Altai region and in Omsk region. Most measurements were made with loamy soil. It was found that microwave reflectivity correlated with the soil moisture in the 100 cm depth at the 300 MHz and in the 40 cm depth at the 900 MHz. One purpose was to test the accuracy of numerical calculation derived from multilayer model of soil
