  • Abstract
    Recent photovoltaic research in China is reviewed, attention is given to the characteristics and applications of solar cells in China. It is pointed out that, in recent years, manufacturing equipment and techniques have been introduced from the USA and other countries and that China itself has made progress in this field. It is concluded that the quality of solar cells made in China has reached the same level as in other countries. The total productive power of the existing factories in China reaches 4.4 MW per year. Solar cell sources with a total capacity of about 1 MWp are currently operated in China
