  • Abstract
    Multiwavelets own better properties than classical wavelets. Multiwavelet packet is introduced and its decomposition is discussed in the paper. The choice algorithm of best multiwavelet packet is proposed based on wavelet packet. Through analysis and discussion about calculation results of best multiwavelet packet, some useful conclusions are drawn. The de-noising and data compression are two basic processing means for power fault signals. Best multiwavelet packet is introduced in de-noising and data compression of power fault signals. The corresponding algorithms are improved based on wavelets, and they are used in the simulation calculation. The simulation results show that better effect may be obtained with best multiwavelet packet than with multiwavelet, wavelet and wavelet packet at the same condition
