Abstract
The paper deals with the conditions that shall be satisfied in order that a safety-related electronic system can be accepted as adequately safe for its intended application. Complex specification of large systems such as REMCS (RICE Embedded Modular Control System, RICE - Regional Innovation Centre for Electrical Engineering) is very difficult, especially when the system must be in accordance with standards. Relevant standards are briefly described. This article presents a sample demo application which is used for easier system analysis. The last part gives an outline for the procedure for the implementation of safety application.
