  • Abstract
In electromagnetic transients studies, only a small part of an AC power system can be modeled in detail. The remaining parts of the system should be reduced to equivalent networks. Different methods have been developed to generate frequency dependent network equivalent (FDNE) models. These FDNE models consist of simple R,L and C branches that reproduce the impedance frequency characteristic of the original system. An FDNE algorithm to obtain equivalent models for AC power systems is proposed in this paper
