Abstract
We deal with the optimization of a convolutional coder for a system with reduced complexity receivers used for coded continuous phase modulated signals. A code search procedure called the optimum transmitter concept is discussed. The results of the systematic code optimization procedure for convolutional codes with rates r=1/2 and r=2/3 combined with MSK, duobinary MSK and TFM signals are shown
