  • Abstract
Recently there has been a great deal of interest and effort in the area of reduced order modeling for electrical interconnects. The goal of reduced order modeling is to extract the dominant poles of the interconnect model and to provide an efficient, accurate approximation for the interconnect response in both the time and frequency domains. The question of accuracy is often asked in the time domain concerning characteristics such as rise/fall times and time delay. The answer to the question of accuracy often lies in the frequency domain and relates to bandwidth and pole extraction. In this paper, reduced order modeling of multiconductor transmission lines is addressed. The topics discussed are limited bandwidth effects, methods for broadband solutions, and CPU time considerations
