Abstract
Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a dominant technology for the large-scale network delivery which can reduce the network transfer delay, but it has low expandability and high cost. Pear-to-Pear (P2P) network is a complementary technology with some advantages to CDN. The paper proposes a mixed delivery network based on CDN and P2P, which deploys the CDN in public backbone network and P2P network in local area. The application and user experience analysis of mixed content delivery network in streaming media system are presented. The experimental performance shows that the mixed content delivery network can enormously reduce traffics over backbone network, make user request be responded quickly, and solve the problem that less seeds lead to the inefficient use of resources.
