  • Abstract
    The supply chain has been of critical concern to many industries and researchers. Now the situation is quite different in comparison to before. Today, managers are equipped with vast body of knowledge and technologies to support their supply chain related activities. Such technologies have enabled organizations to achieve the various benefits like minimizing cost and of improving service level. Previously, the advent of methodologies was confined to physical products only. Today, the hardware part of the value delivered to customers is rapidly replaced by software, which holds the qualities like more customization, upgrades, and minimum of logistic overhead. However, the evolution of such technologies have been a kind of problem for activities like out sourcing, because the development of SCAT literature and practices did not grow parallel to this evolution. Therefore, existing SCAT concepts and technologies must be specially tailored so that software focused supply chain can be managed more efficiently. This document proposes an improved process for software outsourcing by integrating BPO and CMMI for software intensive products.
