Abstract
Process-oriented programming proves a powerful technique for building control and automation systems. The rising popularity of microcontroller-based automation makes it tempting to employ process oriented principles in such applications. However, existing process-oriented languages appear to be incompatible with major concepts of microcontroller programming. This paper discusses applicability of process-oriented programming principles to microcontroller-based systems development. An extended hyperprocess mathematical model is presented along with suggested syntax for a specialized programming language.
