  • Abstract
    The paper deals with a new scalar control algorithm for industrial IPMSM drives able to perform an effective energy saving strategy. According to the motor operating point and using a polynomial relationship between torque angle and stator current phase, such a control exploits the conditions of Maximum Torque per Ampere (MTPA), Flux Weakening (FW) or Maximum Torque per Voltage (MTPV). The paper provides a detailed study and description of the adopted control strategy, showing the validity of the method through simulations and experimental results.
