  • Abstract
Cellular automaton is a hotspot of traffic flow research in recent years. In this paper we build a simple network of two intersections using cellular automaton. In this model each road has multiple lanes. Turning at intersections and both directions are included. Signal synchronization is examined by varying signal period and green time offset. The optimal signal scheme is decided to minimize total delay and maximize the flow. Basic characteristics of the network such as fundamental diagrams and time-space diagrams are then discussed.
