  • Abstract
    As the multilayer piezoelectric transformer (MPT) has some advantages such as small compact, lower power consume, high efficiency, absence of electromagnetic, high power to weight ratio, they can be solutions for making better transformer and key component of power supplies in electronic instruments. In this paper, using tape casting technology and Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-Pb (Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-Pb(ZrTi)O3 piezoelectric material, many prototypes of MPT were co-fired at a lower sintering temperature of less than 980degC. The prototypes were co-fired using 70/30 Ag-Pb internal electrodes. Their mechanical vibration on the surface of the MPT prototypes was measured using OFV056 Vibrometer Scanning Head. The Impedance Analyzer HP4192A with thermostat was applied to measure electrical parameters of MPT at various temperatures. The vibration behavior and temperature distribution at various temperatures were investigated by using the laser Doppler interferometer and radiation thermometer. And the thermal stress caused by non-uniform temperature field was calculated.
