  • Abstract
A vector controlled induction motor drive has been developed by the authors, by using a low cost control architecture. In particular, the stator flux orientation concept has been followed, no speed sensors have been used and all the drive control functions (i.e. signals acquisition and conversion, state observation, flux and torque control, PWM modulation, etc.) have been implemented on a single-chip. A prototypal experimental realization has been developed, and very good results have been obtained. The theoretical approach that has been followed, the main design choices and the most significant experimental results which have been obtained, are presented
