Abstract
In this paper, a base station array antenna with AMC in PCS frequency band is proposed. Due to the 0deg reflection phase on AMC, the thickness (43.2 mm) of the base station array antenna can be reduced into 10.3 mm without the destructive interaction of forward/backward waves. In addition, due to the surface wave suppression by the high surface impedance on AMC, the FBR (24.8 dB) of the base station array antenna is improved into 35.9 dB. Therefore, it is demonstrated that the base station array antenna can be made as low profile and the electrical performance is highly improved by AMC.
