Abstract
In this paper, recalling the relationship between the design specification of inclusions and the effective permeability of an AMM proposed, we derive the fundamental limitations of the artificial magnetic materials with negative permeability. In essence, this work is an extension of our earlier work. The bandwidth constraints for dispersion reduction and the minimum achievable permeability and magnetic loss tangent in AMMs are discussed. In addition, the effect of geometrical and physical parameters on controlling these limitations is studied.
