  • Abstract
    Image recognition is very key importance for image process. Thus, the novel image recognition method based on the hybrid model of support vector machine and artificial life is presented in the paper. The artificial life is the important research method for the traditional biology and the ecology, and the research of artificial life contributes to indicate the most essential feature that life needs and basic regulation of life evolution. FERET face database is applied to research the face recognition performance of the hybrid model of support vector machine and artificial life. It can be seen that the face recognition results of the hybrid model of support vector machine and artificial life are better than those of BP neural network and normal support vector machine.
