Abstract
This paper presents the design of a general purpose rail-to-rail op-amp that is process technology insensitive. The basic concept is to design the op-amp using unity-size transistors. We demonstrate the approach by designing a size-fixed and a size-scaled op-amp that can function well over process technologies from 0.5 ¿m to 65 nm CMOS. The ultimate goal of the design is a synthesizable op-amp that is insensitive or even independent on fabrication technology.
