Abstract
Entrepreneur traits have been long recognized as an important factor which impact new venture performance. This study divides entrepreneur traits into three dimensions, risk-taking propensity, need for achievement, locus of control, analyzes the direct impact of entrepreneur traits on new venture performance. And based on this research, we bring in the entrepreneurial goal orientation as moderating factor, and analyze the indirect roles. The results suggest that the relationship between risk-taking propensity and new venture performance is an cap-shape, and need for achievement and internal locus of control are positive and significant to the new venture performance by entrepreneurial goal orientation.
