  • Abstract
    Surety was presented by sandia national laboratory during the safety study of nuclear weapon. At the same time, surety science and engineering was formed gradually. This article discusses the definition and inside meaning of surety. For various systems, it requires various surety levels. The surety levels and the basic approaches to achieving these surety levels are discussed in the article, too. The result shows that, for a complicated system or infracture, it requires different surety levels under different conditions or in different life periods.
