Abstract
In this paper, a proportional fair scheduling algorithm for the mixed delay sensitive and delay insensitive services in a high speed data transmission system is proposed. The proposed forward link scheduling algorithm not only maximizes total throughput under certain fairness constraints, but also takes the specific delay requirements and the data arrival rates of delay sensitive data services into account. It can ensure the successful delivery of delay sensitive data packets without losing the channel diversity gains that is achieved by conventional proportional fairness.
