Abstract
Throughout the development of coupled oscillator array based agile beam antennas, the continuum model, though approximate, has proven a valuable tool providing an intuitive view of the dynamic behavior analogous to heat conduction and electrostatics. Now, however, as more accurate and detailed descriptions including the nonlinear effects are of interest, much more sophisticated models are being developed and are yielding much deeper insight into the behavior of these arrays.
