Abstract
A set of service creation and management capabilities available now with the advanced intelligent network infrastructure is discussed. A primary focus is given to a very powerful and intuitive visual language approach for service programming. This visual language empowers a wide range of service developers by buffering the developer from both the details of telephone network operations, as well as those of typical programming languages. It provides an intuitive yet rich set of service definition capabilities for the non-programmer and hence invites increased participation in the process. This increased participation, in turn, opens the door to an accelerated rate of service innovation and customization
