Abstract
A bandpass microwave filter design method utilizing transversal signal flow theory is discussed. The realization of finite zeros of transmission is achieved through a supplementary network. A wealth of filtering functions can be emulated by the effective combination of a transversal section cascaded to the supplementary. The composite filter offers steep passband edges with passband flatness. A sample filter is designed based upon the theory presented. Layout and junction effects were modeled in the final circuit. The fabricated microstrip structure was tested and performed within specifications
