Abstract
The SAE AS3 avionics fiber optics standardization committee has recognized a need for a testing and inspection document for beginning of life of fiber optic cable assemblies used in military/aerospace applications. The intent of the document is to provide a standard that the supplier can use to inspect and test cables prior to shipment to the customer, then when the customer receives the cables, the assemblies can be checked in the same manner to verify both results are the same. The SAE subcommittee assigned the writing of this standard to the AS3C3 JELLI sub-group for jumpers, endface, link loss and inspection
