Abstract
The rogue wave was generated in a two-dimensional wave tank and investigated the rogue wave kinematics including local and convective accelerations of the water particle and verification of existing prediction methods. The water particle velocity components of regular waves are measured and compared with the analytical wave kinematics to verify the methodology using the PIV technique.
