Abstract
A new planar microwave phase shifter exhibiting NGD is presented. This method of bandwidth enhancement can be applied to any linear phase shifter. The phase bandwidth was experimentally shown to be increased by 450% with respect to a conventional unloaded microstrip phase shifter. The maximum insertion loss measured for this particular phase shifter was 3.11dB; although this attenuation can be reduced at the cost of reduced phase bandwidth.
