Abstract
The European Higher Education Area (EHEA) was constituted in Paris in 1998. It was a result of the need for the establishment of a common Higher Education for all the countries of the European Union. Furthermore, the Declaration of Bologna which was signed in 1999 defined the necessary actions for European Universities to adapt to the EHEA. In Greece the first step was put into action in 2005 with the law for the quality assurance at HEIs (3374/2005). Next steps towards the harmonizing of Greek HEIs with the EHEA were the law 4009/2011 and the recently adopted Hellenic Qualifications Framework (2014). This article aims to analyze the issues surrounding the quality assurance of Higher Education in the Informatics and Telecommunications field in Greece.
