Abstract
The key issue of designing protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is Energy efficiency what needs to be enhanced to improve the entire network´s lifetime. In this paper, we proposed EELLER that stands for Energy Efficient-Low Latency Express Routing. It is a hierarchical routing protocol based on clustering to minimize the number of hops required for data reporting as well as achieving energy efficiency. There are data Expressways constructed initially by chains of clusterheads. These expressways are considered as the paths for data routing. On event detection, the gathered data is forwarded hop by hop through clusterheads of the expressways. The next hops are determined based on distance metrics.
