Abstract
A novel technique for the analysis and design of complex antennas is presented. This method is based on the method of moments, and its computational cost is reduced due to the combination of the fast multipole method (FMM) and the characteristics basis function method (CBFM). So, electrically large antennas can be analyzed. The method has been tested considering reflectarrays and antennas composed by metamaterials and other finite-sized multilayered quasi-periodic structures achieving good results.
