Abstract
We have developed highly reliable and economical supervision and control equipment, PS-SVC, for the power receiving facilities used in telecommunication. We summarized the conditions required for the equipment and planned an approach to the technical problems. In addition, we introduce PS-SVC technical methodology which achieved higher reliability and lower cost than PLC while suppressing increases in cost for the general-purpose (PLC) in particular by using a modular structure and duplicating functional units on a single board. We compared PS-SVC with PLC and evaluated them quantitatively from the viewpoints of reliability and economy. This system is very useful equipment for communication carriers which introduce large numbers of supervision and control equipment.
