Abstract
In this paper the problem of modeling and control the behaviour of a system constituted by interconnected manufacturing cells is investigated using a vector representation, derived from the Petri nets approach. Two simple working cells, modeled by automata, are interconnected to form a system with a number of states given by the sum of the state of the single subsystems. A modular-like control is derived on the basis of the control objectives, resulting the composition of a dynamic control a static one
