Abstract
The limitations of the two current methods of short message filtering are analyzed in this paper. Strategies of intercepting unhealthy short messages on mobile phone by adopting multiple patterns match algorithm are also discussed. By adopting the object-oriented and component-based concept, a short message interception system based on content detection is designed and implemented on Symbian OS cell phones. The paper introduces the system structure and Message transmission mechanism in Symbian OS. The interception algorithm based on content detection is described in detail.
