Abstract
In this paper, a dynamic multiparameter ant algorithm based route selection system is proposed. This system finds optimum multiparameter route between two desired points, origin and destination (O/D). This method recognizes routes according to user desired parameters in two traffic information availability (online/offline) modes. In the online mode, routes traffic conditions are supplied by a traffic control center (TCC). Since the online system might rarely be unavailable, an offline system is considered. The offline system uses routes statistical and historical conditions, saved in the memory of system, and employs artificial neural networks (ANNs) for traffic estimation. The proposed method is simulated on a part of London, UK, and the results indicate its feasibility and performance.
