Abstract
The application of automated Petri net modeling to military operations is discussed. Basic Petri nets are discussed, and a succession of modifications is examined. Extensions to simple Petri nets are assessed in terms of the increased modeling capability they provide and the impact they have on the clarity of the models. The IBM-PC-based Effective Automated Systems Engineering Process Analysis System (EASE-PAS) is demonstrated as an example of such systems
