Abstract
This paper proposes a set of resident algorithms in conjunction with the H.263 standard to support video transmission over mobile radio channels. Specifically, an adaptive stream-shuffling scheme is proposed to mitigate the effects of burst-errors in mobile channels, while an efficient error detection and a bi-directional error concealment algorithm, which exploits the inherent correlation and the error resilient diversity of PB coding mode in an H.263 coded bit stream, are effectively incorporated. Simulations show that this set of algorithms can achieve an efficient and effective video transmission in most of wireless environments
