  • Abstract
    The principle of switched reluctance generator (SRG) is introduced. And the compositions of switched reluctance generator system are given. Two main circuit structures of SRG system are compared to select the better one, i.e., self-excitation pattern and separate pattern. The control strategy of SRG system is put forward. Fixed angle PWM duty cycle control is used at low and medium speed. Fixed PWM angle control is adopted at high speed. Fuzzy controller is chosen as the main controller since it has the advantages of robustness. The flow charts of the two control modes are given. The generating experiments with different conditions are carried out to study on the generating characteristics of SRG, such as different PWM duty cycle, angles, load and speed. At last, the experimental results were analyzed in detail, which verified the rationality and feasibility of the proposed control strategy and designed SRG system.
