Abstract
This paper presents a general fading distribution-the η-μ distribution-that includes the one-sided Gaussian, the Rayleigh, and, more generally, the Nakagami (1960) distributions as special cases. The Rice and lognormal distributions may also be well-approximated by the η-μ distribution. Preliminary results show that the η-μ distribution provides a very good fitting to experimental data
