Abstract
Recently, several waveguides have been proposed for THz waveguiding. The single metal wire waveguide is one of the most promising due its low-loss and non-dispersive behavior. However, waves are very weakly guided by this waveguide. This paper analyzes the effect on power confinement, attenuation and dispersion, of coating the wire with a dielectric jacket, depending on its thickness and permittivity.
